Nina Samadashvili

Principal Dancer with the State Ballet of Georgia

She joined the ballet company of the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Professional State Theatre as a Ballet Artist in 2011. Her talent and dedication quickly earned her promotions to Soloist in 2014 and Leading Soloist in 2016.


Her extensive repertoire includes principal roles such as Odette-Odile in Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky, Giselle and Myrtha in Giselle by Adam, and Nikiya and Gamzatti in La Bayadère by Minkus. She has also performed as Raymonda in Raymonda by Glazunov, Juliet in Romeo and Juliet by Prokofiev, and the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker by Tchaikovsky. Her role in Don Quixote by Minkus includes Chelita, the Queen of the Dryads, First and Second Variations, and Street Dancer. Additionally, she has danced as Irema in Gorda by Toradze, Laurencia and Jacinta in Laurencia by Krein, and the Firebird in Firebird by Stravinsky. Her diverse roles extend to Tsuna in Tsuna and Tsrutsuna by Davitashvili, the Young Girl in The Two Pigeons by Messager, Aurora and the Lilac Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty by Tchaikovsky, and Terpsichore in Apollo Musagète by Stravinsky. Other notable roles include Medea, the Blue Fairy in Pinocchio by Respighi, Natalie in Natalie by Moeller, and Emilia and Bianca in Othello by Matchavariani.


Her experience also encompasses leading roles in various ballets such as Serenade, Mozartina, Symphony in C, and Concerto Barocco. She has performed in Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux (choreographed by George Balanchine), Chopiniana (choreographed by Mikhail Fokine), and Bizet Variations. Her other significant performances include Dreams About Japan (choreographed by Alexei Ratmansky), Sagalobeli, Reflections (choreographed by Yuri Possokhov), and Second Before the Ground (choreographed by Trey McIntyre). She has also danced in Le Conservatoire (choreographed by August Bournonville), Wings (choreographed by Giorgi Aleksidze), Secret Garden (choreographed by Sasha Evtimova), Petite Mort (choreographed by Jiří Kylián), Petite Cérémonie, Orawa (choreographed by Mehdi Walerski), Carmina Burana (choreographed by Ilia Jivoy), and Eyeblink (choreographed by Maria Barrios).


She has participated in international tours with the ballet company, performing in countries such as Italy, Spain, Portugal, Russia, Japan, Estonia, Latvia, Finland, Belarus, the USA, Lebanon (Beirut), Kazakhstan, Israel, and the UAE. Her performances include Swan Lake in Minsk at the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre of Belarus, and in Paris and Saint Petersburg with the Classical Ballet Theatre. She has also performed Laurencia and Firebird in Minsk, and Firebird and Chopiniana during an evening with Andris Liepa in Dubai.


Her talent has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Grand Prix and First Place at the “Rigas Pavasaris 2013” (Riga Spring 2013) International Ballet Competition in Riga, Latvia.
